The alliance will become one of the biggest data centre operators in the south-east Asia region catering for first-tier telcos, government agencies, banks and other businesses.  The announcement was made at the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Intel and the DCA to accelerate Green Data Center deployments in the region.

One of the key objectives of the DCA is to develop Green Data Centers by applying modest energy saving technologies as the contribution for reducing the greenhouse effect and global warming. This is also the objective of many data center service providers and IT corporations, and one which Intel has been very focused on.  Intel was selected by the DCA due to its silicon technology leadership and the breadth of its experience in data centre solutions.  Intel shall advise and cooperate with the DCA in applying green/energy-efficient solutions that analyze and optimize the energy usage of transformers, UPS, Air-Conditioner and memory.

“Energy efficiency and its effect on the global environment is a rising concern all over the world. As a premier data centre service provider, our participation in this exciting initiative with Intel is also part of our corporate social responsibility to contribute and assist in reducing our carbon footprint. Every little bit counts and we are hoping to count with Intel on this.” Loh Yuen Weng, Vice President of Business Development, The AIMS Asia Group.

“TCCT is the first Data Center in Thailand having founded the Data Center Alliance (DCA) together with 3 leading Telecom and IT services providers in South East Asia, marking the milestones of forming the Regional Data Center. It is another step of TCCT’s strategy to expand our business to international market.  Our clients’ satisfaction level will increase even more via the upcoming projects e.g. the cross border alternative sites and the various programs collaborating with our Technology Partners, like Intel.  Intel intends to explore opportunity with us to develop Green Data Centers by applying modest energy saving technologies as the contribution for reducing the greenhouse effect, while being more efficient.”, stated by Mr.Kosit Suksingha, Managing Director from TCC Technology.

The collaboration enables the members of the DCA to have early access of Intel technology, facilitating the provision of customized data centre solutions that best address the needs of enterprises competing in the ASEAN region as well as the global economy. This includes early access to Intel processors, platform and other products through technology seminar, review systems, and test samples. Subject experts at Intel and the alliance members will form a virtual taskforce for knowledge sharing and evaluation for strategic technologies, such as Intel® Virtualization™ Technology and Intel® vPro™ technology which are core technologies to enable green/energy-efficient data centers. Intel also committed to open its data centre for visit and organize seminars with its data center experts.
